Randy & Mimi Esperanza are members of Hope Chapel. On Monday, September 1st (Labor Day), their son, Chance, had a seizure while in the water at a beach in Lahaina, and has been in a coma since then.
Chance is 14 years old, and he is a Freshman at Baldwin High School. The Esperanza's (dad/stepmom) live in Kahului. Chance's mom's name is Tanya Wong.
Chance is currently on life support at Kapiolani Medical Center in Honolulu. The latest MRI shows that there is a chance of brain damage.
Please pray for a miracle for Chance, and for God's peace, comfort and strength for the Esperanza & Wong families. Check back on this blog for prayer updates and for practical ways you might be able to help the families in their time of need. Feel free to leave your words of encouragement, prayers and scripture for them.

Mahalo nui loa for setting this up. I am the cousin of Tanya Wong who is the mother of Mikela, Lainey, Chance and Gabriel (Mimi is the mother of Randy Jr. and Ezekiel their other two children).
I have been with Chance's parents (Tanya and Randy) since they arrived on Sept. 1, 2008 @ Kapiolani Hospital.
Today, Sept. 13, 2008 Chance was moved from PICU to Wilcox (to a regular hospital room). Despite the reports of the Dr.'s Chance has made positive steps daily. I stand with you all in prayer knowing that there are so many promises in the Word...Phil 1:6, Luke 2:52, and Jer 29:11. He has been faithful thus far and I know He will continue to carry this family through this. I have seen great things in the last 13 days. Today, while Randy was putting in a mouth guard to help Chance not grind his teeth.....Chance smiled, and even kinda giggled. We were all laughing and smiling with him. It was a beautiful moment.

One day she arose completely healed no brain damage & stories she told about certain songs and things whispered even certain scriptures of Gods word she never knew before her heart & mind clearly awoke sharing them with all of us. Miracles at that Hospital have happened before keep the Faith in this very DESERT TIME.. and She is a strong Beautiful Christian mother and wife and more and is a blessed mother of 3 she and husband and family She was said to never speak or think again by Doctors as well she is and still a Miracle at the same hospital. Your Gods best hands and so May Gods grace and Love bless you with the same and even greater Miracles we are all agreeing with you 24-7 so even Doctors & nurses as well who also need extra prayers & Love words of encouragement as well. They to can see God still heals and does modern day Miracles today as well. Psalm 37;3-6 and Eph 3;20 MAY JESUS presence and comforter and Peace give you new strength as well see Chance awaken and tell you of seeing Angels and all the words you each spoke into his ears and most his heart and spirit!!!!! dont stop doing what your each doing , God is doing other miracles at the same time all around as well , The blog site is another proof of Gods chosen vessel Chance who God so loves to surround him with loved ones and Gods people and friends like each of you as we pray .
